An agentic system can plan and perform connected actions using authorised tools. Design its permissions, checkpoints and arrangements for human takeover.

Entry requirements

AI Foundations Level I competence or equivalent knowledge and familiarity with a process you want to improve. Level I does not require programming; higher levels involve integrations and structured data.

Levels II and III require the preceding level’s competencies or verified equivalent experience. Preparation is agreed before enrolment. Higher levels introduce technical elements; tool requirements are confirmed in advance.

Level I / Foundation

Automation with AI

After this level, you can

Build a simple automated process using AI.
Set the point at which a person must approve an action.
Check error handling without uncontrolled repeated actions.

Competency scope

Process automation and workflows: triggers, actions and outcomes.
Application programming interfaces (APIs), application integration and structured data.
Automated information extraction, document classification and processing.
Report generation and routing results for approval.
Error handling, repeated actions and exceptions.
Automation security, permissions and process ownership.

Competency assessment

A knowledge test and a practical automated process with error controls and human approvals.

Level II / Professional

AI Agentic Systems

Competence at the preceding level of this track or equivalent experience, confirmed before participation.

After this level, you can

Select an agent where a sequence of actions is justified.
Design a restricted set of tools and permissions.
Explain checkpoints and the response to incorrect behaviour.

Competency scope

How an agent performing connected actions within granted permissions differs from a conversational chatbot.
Planning multistage tasks, searching for information and using tools through function calls.
System memory: information retained between steps, its scope and currency.
Agentic workflows and cooperation between agents, including task allocation and material handovers.
Checkpoints, human approval, access restrictions and bounded autonomy.
Monitoring, recognising errors and safely stopping a process.

Competency assessment

A test, case study and practical agentic workflow assessment, including justification of permissions and human control.

Level III / Advanced

Advanced Agentic Systems

Competence at the preceding level of this track or equivalent experience, confirmed before participation.

After this level, you can

Design an agent architecture and justify its boundaries.
Combine access control, isolation, logging and fallback arrangements.
Define quality and cost measures and conditions for human takeover.

Competency scope

Architecture and orchestration, model selection, tools and multiagent cooperation.
Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), controlled knowledge bases and system memory.
Local, cloud and hybrid environments, with defined data boundaries.
Least privilege, process isolation and action logging.
Monitoring, evaluation, error handling, fallback modes and human takeover.
Cost controls, security and autonomy management across the system lifecycle.

Competency assessment

A knowledge check, complex case and agent architecture project with safeguards and human checkpoints, followed by a project defence.

Certification rules

ProSentinel — AI Automation and Agentic Systems Specialist

Specialist certification requires successful assessments at all three levels of the track and a current Level III credential. Passing a higher level does not automatically award lower-level credentials.

The knowledge test requires at least 80%. Practical assessment requires all specified competencies; breaches of safety or independent-work rules prevent a pass. Attendance alone does not confer certification.

Certification is valid for 36 months. Renew a level through a current assessment of its competencies; renew a specialisation through a Level III assessment covering the whole track. Academy rules on retakes, appeals and an independent certification decision apply.

This is ProSentinel Academy’s own competency certification system. It is not a state or regulated qualification, an academic degree or an ISO certificate.
