Who it is for

Business owners, employees, administrative teams and people who want a structured foundation for working with AI.

In practice

Select a suitable tool, check its output and decide which information can safely be shared. This is the natural starting point for the AI branch.

Entry requirements

Basic computer and document skills. No previous AI knowledge or programming experience is required.

Levels II and III require the preceding level’s competencies or verified equivalent experience. Preparation is agreed before enrolment. Higher levels introduce technical elements; tool requirements are confirmed in advance.

Three development levels

Level I / Foundation

AI Foundations

Basic computer and document skills. No previous AI knowledge or programming experience is required.

After this level, you can

Select a suitable class of tool and give clear instructions.
Recognise limitations and check essential information.
Identify disclosure risks and decisions requiring human oversight.

Competency scope

Artificial intelligence and machine learning: learning patterns from data. Generative AI creates content; large language models (LLMs) process and generate language.
Language and multimodal systems working with text, images or audio: how outputs are produced, capabilities and limitations.
Conversation context and tokens, the units used to process content. Clear instructions, objectives, constraints and staged tasks.
Fabricated or incorrect answers, often called hallucinations, and model bias. Checking important information against independent sources.
Confidentiality, data protection and tool access. Human approval of outputs.
Organisational responsibilities and the foundations of EU rules relevant to AI use.

Competency assessment

A knowledge test and a short practical task, with documented output checks and information safeguards.

Level II / Professional

Professional AI Use

Competence at the preceding level of this track or equivalent experience, confirmed before participation.

After this level, you can

Complete a multistage task using different types of material.
Create a reusable instruction and document source checks.
Identify errors and distinguish model contributions from your own assessment.

Competency scope

Context, role and objectives; breaking down complex tasks, iterative improvement and context management.
Document analysis and comparison, multiple sources and research support.
Extracting and organising information, spreadsheets and data.
Images, recordings and transcription, including recognition errors.
Reusable instructions and workflows: a defined sequence of activities leading to a checked result.
Quality control, fact checking, source evaluation and information protection throughout the process.

Competency assessment

A test, practical assignment and professional case discussion. Assessment covers the complete result and the rationale for verifying it.

Level III / Advanced

Advanced AI Use

Competence at the preceding level of this track or equivalent experience, confirmed before participation.

After this level, you can

Justify model and environment choices against the task and data.
Design controlled access to knowledge and tools.
Define quality, cost and safe stopping criteria.

Competency scope

Cloud and local models, model selection, combining models and private AI environments.
Application programming interfaces (APIs), structured outputs and tool use.
Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG): supplying a model with relevant material from an agreed knowledge base. Source permissions and information currency.
Vector representations: numerical encodings used to find meaningfully similar information, with limits to matching.
Integrations and agentic systems, autonomy boundaries and human approval points.
Comparative tests, quality evaluation, costs, security and operational monitoring.

Competency assessment

A knowledge check, advanced case and design project for a secure AI environment or process, followed by a defence of the decisions.

AI Automation and Agentic Systems — Level I

Certification rules

ProSentinel — AI Use Specialist

Specialist certification requires successful assessments at all three levels of the track and a current Level III credential. Passing a higher level does not automatically award lower-level credentials.

The knowledge test requires at least 80%. Practical assessment requires all specified competencies; breaches of safety or independent-work rules prevent a pass. Attendance alone does not confer certification.

Certification is valid for 36 months. Renew a level through a current assessment of its competencies; renew a specialisation through a Level III assessment covering the whole track. Academy rules on retakes, appeals and an independent certification decision apply.

This is ProSentinel Academy’s own competency certification system. It is not a state or regulated qualification, an academic degree or an ISO certificate.
